Single Variable
To perform single variable calculations, you must enter SD1 mode by pressing 'Mode' followed by the 'multiply' button.
Before beginning, the statistical memory should be cleared
by pressing 'Shift' and 'Scl' and then 'Exe'.
The 'Scl' command is on the arrow button (5th row of buttons from the top).
To enter data, type a number and then press 'DT' (which is on the xth-root
button, 5th row from top).
To enter several data items of the same value, you could repeatedly press
'DT' or type the value followed a semi-colon then type the frequency of the value and then press 'DT'. (the semi-colon can be obtained by pressing shift and the 'right bracket' button)
e.g. to enter the number 67, six times, type 67;6 then press 'DT'.
The values for n, Σ x and Σ x² are stored in the variables W,V and U respectively. These values can be displayed by pressing 'Alpha'
followed by the letter followed by 'Exe'.
The 'mean', the 'pop standard deviation(x σn)' and the
'sample standard deviation(x σn-1)' can be obtained by pressing 'shift'
followed by the button '1','2' or '3' respectively.
When you are finished using the statistics functions of the calculator
press 'Mode' followed by '+' to return the calculator to normal operation.
Regression
To perform regression calculations, you must enter LR1 mode by pressing 'Mode' followed by the 'divide' button.
Before beginning, the statistical memory should be cleared
by pressing 'Shift' and 'Scl' and then 'Exe'.
The 'Scl' command is on the arrow button (5th row of buttons from the top).
To enter data, type the x value and then a comma (the comma can be obtained by pressing shift and the 'left bracket' button) and then the y value and then press 'DT' (which is on the x√ button, 5th row from top).
To enter the same data item more than once, you could repeatedly press
'DT' or type the data followed a semi-colon then type the frequency of the value and then press 'DT'. (the semi-colon can be obtained by pressing shift and the 'right bracket' button)
e.g. to enter the number 67,5 six times, type 67,5;6 then press 'DT'.
The values of A and B in the regression formula y=A+Bx are given by:
A=(Σy-BΣx)÷n
B=(nΣxy-ΣxΣy)÷(nΣx²-(Σ x))²
and the correlation coefficient is given by:
r=(nΣxy-ΣxΣy)÷√((nΣx²-(Σx)²)(nΣy²-(Σy)²))
The constant 'A' can be obtained by pressing 'Shift', '7', 'Exe'.
The coefficient 'B' can be obtained by pressing 'Shift', '8', 'Exe'.
The correlation coeff 'r' can be obtained by pressing 'Shift', '9', 'Exe'.
The values for n, Σ x, Σ x², Σ xy, Σ y, Σ y² are stored in the variables W,V,U,R,Q and P
respectively. These values can be displayed by pressing 'Alpha'
followed by the letter followed by 'Exe'.
The 'x-mean', the 'pop standard deviation(x σn)' and the
'sample standard deviation(x σn-1)' can be obtained by pressing 'shift' followed by the button '1','2' or '3' respectively.
Similarly for the y variable use the buttons '4','5' or '6'.
The find estimated values, use the symbols x^ and y^ by pressing 'shift'
followed by the 'multiply' or 'divide' button respectively.
e.g. To estimate the y-value when x=3 then type '3','shift','y^','Exe'.
When you are finished using the statistics functions of the calculator
press 'Mode' followed by '+' to return the calculator to normal operation.
